Happy New Year to everyone! Some exciting projects are going to be coming out of hcnoel.com this year. Already 2008 is off to a great start as you can go out right now to a comic store near you and buy yourself an awesome comic book with some of my artwork in it. Head over to Super Real Graphics to check out Jason Martin's amazing comic series Super Real. I did a pin-up featuring Jason's super-powered femme fatale Holly vs Quentin Tarantino's greatest creations. Super Real vs The Movie Industry is a one of a kind indie smash with some of the most talented indie artists around adding their own magic to Jason's epic. The Diamond Code is SEP073951. Ask your store to order if they don't have it! And buy two of 'em!

Just got back from seeing Sweeney Todd. I've been psyched for this movie for so long, it almost wore me out. The movie was a work of art. It was beautiful. Go see this musical now. The audience I saw it with was stunned at the ending. I guess they weren't aware that this film adaptation of the Tony award winning musical was a tragedy.
My friends and I loved this film. "How about a shave?"

Movies: Are They Going To Ruin This?

Here's a feature I like to call...Are They Going To Ruin This? Ah, it's some much fun when the whole studio audience says it along with me.
The Watchmen movie scares the hell out of me. Not in the "Oh shit, I've got O.J.'s football crap and he wants it back or he'll kill me" way, but more the heartbreaking, I love this comic-way. I think it can't be made into a movie properly, but Hollywood is trying anyway.
Keep in mind, I admit when I'm wrong about predicting these movie-comic things. I didn't think Spider-Man would be good because of Tobey Maguire's casting. I was wrong. Really, really wrong and I never felt better!
So, please prove me wrong Watchmen movie! Pretty please?

Look closely too: Rorschach's there!

UPDATE: I have been assured by a expert movie report that this movie will rule all. I can now sleep at night. Yes, that is all it takes.

DEVIANT ART UPDATE:

I've been uploading more and more art back onto my page at DA recently and I thought a new running feature here would be to show a favorite piece of mine in case you don't like venturing over to other sites. Remember, commissions are available and they're cheap!

Movies

My Thanksgiving holiday movie this year was Hitman. Yes, it's based on video game, but dammit, it was a lot like the video game and I liked it! There's a hot Russian chick who hardly keeps her clothes on and I felt Timothy Olyphant was great as "47". They had a few scenes that looked straight out of the game like when he walks down a hallway to do a stealth kill in a bathroom. I wish they had thrown in a few Italian mob scenes in there but it's something I can live without. Plus, it was an honest to goodness "R" rated movie with nudity, blood and swearwords. I've read some reviews online biching about 47 having a barcode tattoo. It's in the game. Wouldn't people notice bald dudes running around with barcode tattoos on their heads? Yes, but it's a movie. It's not reality. Plus, people complain when movies aren't faithful to the source material and then bitch when they're too faithful. Go get some popcorn for $35 and enjoy a fun night at the movies watching Timothy Olyphant slaughter some bad guys.

As I go back to inking and coloring the final of Mr. Scootles, let me share this wonderful find with you. From the land of YouTube comes the first sounds of Johnny Depp in Sweeny Todd. And if being a handsome, talented actor was enough, he can sing as well. This is the movie I'm looking forward to the most this season. Enjoy, bleeders!

Ghostbusters 3 is coming! Sure, it'll be just a video game, but Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis are going to do the voices! And to top that...Aykroyd and Ramis are going to write the script for it. This has to kick ass. I'm a huge fan of the films and I'm already hoping they make a version for the Wii where the controller is a
Proton Pack!

I only have one demand they must have Ernie Hudson in this game! I demand it!
